_Energetyka Belchatow 2013

Between 9 and 10 September 2013 Poland's largest utility, PGE, continued the tradition of inviting the elite of the energy industry to Belchatow. In the shade of the largest power plant in Europe, the current problems in the Polish energy sector were discussed...

The required flexibility of power plants due to fluctuating renewables, combined with falling energy prices pose a major challenge for the Polish and the entire European energy industry. Due to the significant opposition from the public to the new locations, antiquated power plants urgently need to be modernised. Fortunately, these measures are being supported by the EU, so that Poland will remain an attractive country for plant constructors in the coming years.
The conference was combined with a trade fair, where over 100 specialist exhibitors presented products and services  from the power plant industry. As a long-time partner of PGE, the Wallstein-Group was present with a stand. The two days were well-filled with in-depth conversations with customers. Also, as part of the conference, Mr. Maciejewski held a well-received presentation on CEECON technology in biomass power plants.
